01.12.96 ROMA, QLD 0445hrs (NL)
Witness at Roma woke up at just before sunrise. He noticed whilst looking north west there was an object, the size of a large comet, moving at a slow pace to the south east. It was round, like a ball and white. He then looked through his binoculars and observed a round ball at the front with approximately a 1-inch gap them flames on either side of the object, like a blowtorch. He observed the object for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. UFOICQ
03.12.96 BEENLEIGH (WINDAROO), QLD 0045hrs (NL)
Witness observed a bright reddish/orange light over their house. The light lit up their backyard for approximately 10 seconds with a red glow then switched off. He unfortunately did to see a UFO. UFOICQ
08.12.96 MOORINA, QLD (NESTS)

Several unusual traces were detected in a crop of 150cm tall Sorghum, on the 9th Dec. It is believed they appeared on the 8th. They traces consisted of a spiral, "woven" pattern. They ranged in size and shape from a 15m oval, to a 6m (shape not given.)
Plants were broken, bent over.
08.12.96 TAMBORINE, QLD 2230hrs (NL)

A bright, orange light was observed by two people, as it hovered then moved away slowly. Initially to the NE it moved to the N. Duration: 10-15 minutes.
21.12.96 BRISBANE (CARINDALE), QLD 2300hrs (CE1)
Witness at Carindale was driving home with her family late on the evening of the 21st December 1996. The whole family (6) observed a UFO travelling from the Gold Coast area and heading towards the City (Brisbane) and them moved north west. It was at plane height in the sky, there was no definite shape to it. The UFO had orange lights. There was no noise. As the UFO moved to the northwest it flew straight up into the sky, changed from orange to a clear/whitish colour then disappeared. There have been other sightings in the same area in 1995, by the same witness, but did not report them until now. UFOICQ
28.12.96 STRADBROKE ISLAND (AMITY POINT), QLD 2000hrs (CE1)
Witness was driving near bushland when she observed a bright light near the road. She stopped the 4WD, but stayed inside. She explained that the nearest light source was over 3 kilometers away and where the light was coming from was unusual for it to be there. She was approximately between 50 to 100 yards away from it. The UFO ascended from ground level slowly. It was long in shape with no definite outline, but there was a haze around it. At first it looked like headlights then as it ascended it turned to orange. There was no noise. As they ascended, when they were half way up a tree, one was lower than the other was. They then moved off toward the mainland (Brisbane/Redland Bay area). UFOICQ
28.12.96 BRISBANE (WOODRIDGE), QLD 2035hrs (CE1)
Witness at Woodridge observed a UFO whilst driving south along the SouthEast Freeway near Woodridge. He stopped to observe the UFO on the side of the road. He estimated it to be approximately 1,000 to 2,000 feet in the air, it was moving from the Woodridge area toward the City (Brisbane). Moving at a slow pace it was triangular in shape with a fuzzy outline and had two orange lights. There was no noise. The UFO then divided apart (approximately 200 feet). There was no other aircraft in the area at that time. It was cloudy at the time and the UFO was just beneath the cloud line. UFOICQ
