I had a report at 5.10 am from a family travelling to Perth from the north-west, they were just north of New Norcia when they saw a white light behaving in erratic fashion and then disappearing. They also reported brief sighting of a red glow in the bush. Later a man fishing in a dam some 120 kms north of Perth with his girlfriend and her mother, sighted (1.15 am), a white light that followed a zigzag pattern for approximately one and a half minutes. Then a woman in a suburb north of Perth reported an object that flew with a very loud whooshing sound low over her house. So loud in fact, that she was too alarmed to sleep for a couple of hours. She said it sounded "like a scud missile".

Patricia, Kevin and family witnessed a cigar-shaped object in the northwestern sky near their home. Around three minutes of video footage was taken of this object before it disappeared behind nearby trees.

While studying the videotape, a second object was located, during the dying seconds of the footage. This object appeared to be the same in size and shape as the first, but appeared to drop out of the sky. Diane Harrison obtained permission to acquire the original videotape for computer analysis.

The following procedure ensured. A copy of the original was obtained for computer imaging and examination. Several images, including the second object were analyzed. After a lengthy debate, the following conclusion was reached. Due to the fact the object appeared man-made (the light source under the first object may have been a propellant, which may explain why the second object was seen dropping out of the sky), its erratic flight path across the sky and the second object which fell from the sky, it was concluded that the object was a balloon. The investigators ruled out the possibility of a deliberate hoax due to the fact that it was Valentine’s Day. Duration: 3-7 minutes. Diane Harrison/Robert Frola UFOICQ

Moonta Police Office, Norm Elliott was on holiday in Scotland in February 1999 when he sighted 3 objects between 1400 and 1500. The silver orb shaped objects appeared to be ball like and the duration of the sighting was only one minute. Being a tourist, Norm was actively sight seeing and the objects came within his field of view. The sighting left Mr Elliot perplexed.

"The first two orbs moved across the sky parallel to each other with approximately 100 meters between them followed about 30 seconds later by a third orb on the same path/same speed. All were equal in size." Norm is still bewildered by the sighting and qualified his sighting - "I am by virtue of my occupation a sceptic and am not one to accept observation/versions without some corroboration/proof however, what I saw can be explained. I do think it was an illusion caused by climatic conditions, I am left with the only other explanation - that they were UFOs"
