Gary and Camille watched amazed as six bright, star-like objects at forty-five degrees moved in and out of formation travelling south to north. The witnesses were looking eastwards as the objects moved slowly at first, but often moved rapidly when changing formation. They formed a circle, semi-circle and triangle moving up and down and from side to side. Gary phoned RAAF Pearce who claimed no planes were flying in the area at that time. Witness saw a very fast moving object ...like a shooting star...even though the sky was not yet dark...he thought the shape of the object was elliptical....like a cigar...however he was reluctant to use the word’ cigar’ to describe it. I concluded he saw a meteor. George Simpson AUFORN VIC

On the nights of 17 and 18th Feb 2001, Julie and her husband saw a bright light in the sky, west just over Mt Glorious. It was low in the sky. It traveled slowly up and then dropped down over a period of 10 minutes. Julie said it was 20 times bigger and brighter than a star. They watched it for about half hour then it just slowly disappeared. It did the same thing the next night only, it was much higher in the sky but still in the west over Mt Glorious. They said it was differently not a star.

Julie went on to say when she was 17 (1977) she shared a bedroom with her sister, they heard a funny sound like a gone wrong siren, then it stopped and there was a big red glow coming from outside, they looked out of the window and could see something the size of the house, it was just above them, everything had a red glow, the trees were swaying and wind was blowing coming from somewhere. She went to take a closer look outside, holding her Bible, but as soon as she opened the door it vanished, and everything went back to normal. Jan Stone AUFORN QLD

The Border Watch Newspaper, February 27, 2001, reports of an unidentified flying objects along the southeast Coast line last week have increased. Four people sitting in a car near Port MacDonnell lighthouse last Tuesday night described what they believe was a UFO. Their sighting has been verified by two more people. The object was flying in the vicinity of Victoria and towards the ocean. Their descriptions of the "Alien Machine are virtually identical to two sightings near Port MacDonnell light house, the other near Mumbannar. They described, "A large white hazy object in the sky, which moved at incredible speed when not moving slowly or stationary." People traveling in a car at 12:40am last Tuesday night saw the object near Mumbannar. Their description matches that of the separate sightings at Port McDonnell and seems to describe an object which - moved in a huge arc across the sea then inland. It was moving at varying speeds, then just disappeared in a flash. The Victorian people who phoned us said they had contacted the weather bureau but there was no balloon activity. The motorists said the object was round, large white and surrounded by a haze. The five people who saw the object at Port MacDonnell are convinced they saw a UFO and were "quite freaked out." 10.15 pm......Silent.....bright light...like a light coming through clouds...but no lights present and no clouds around....suddenly disappeared..no sound.....fairly low....like a light aircraft...very bright....Looked like a fog...like a ring around the moon ....(moon not present). Roughly south West in direction......distance about 15 klms away or more....Suddenly gone....in an instant. George Simpson AUFORN VIC

I talked to Miss K at the police station and she told me a person had called in last night at around 9.20pm. The witness told police that an object was shining red white and blue & green.

Witness told police he had observed the object move very fast to left and them back to the right. He said he only wished he had his video camera with him. Witness observed object through binoculars.

Miss K said the police also observed the light but were under the impression it was a star. Witness 1 left his phone number with the police. Police contacted Hotline.

Comment Diane:
1. Cappella Auriga was approximately 2 meters above the horizon to the NW assending at 11.05 p.m to the NW... to W
2. Saturn & Jupiter 5 meters above the horizon NW Pleiades was just below Saturn & Jupiter assending 11.47p.m NW ...to W
3. As the witness observed object through binoculars it is possible the object could have appeared to move in different direction due to an unsteady hand.

Stuart reported a red glow in the western sky which moved about and changed from dim to bright and dim again. He claims to have seen this effect over several days, but his description did little to clarify the phenomenon. Brian Richards ASPR/UFORUM

Owen Said: I was in our outside spar with my wife just observing the night sky when I saw an orange object sitting stationary. I thought this is a little strange I pointed it out to my wife. The object then moved very fast to West then changed direction so fast, it couldn’t have been a plane? impossible. Then it disappeared.
