For a few seconds at 5.15 am on 2 April 2007, Brian watched a large red circle with a burning tail fall in the northern sky. The object looked to go down over the horizon (a hill some 10 km away). For a second he saw a red glow from behind the hill. It would appear that a meteor or space debris re-entry could be the explanation for the report. The witness says he contacted Air and Sea Rescue who advised him to ring the UFO Hotline. Keith Roberts, TUFOIC

On Sunday 2 April, Wanda and her husband had risen earlier than usual due to the end of daylight savings the night before. Their homestead is at Jingellic, east of Wagga, on the Murray River and is perched on the top of a hill. At 5.20 am the two of them saw a huge bright light pass silently overhead. A loud ‘boom’ then followed this and the earth ‘shook’.

The next day, having already called the hotline, Wanda heard from co-workers that there had been reports made on the ABC Goulbourn Murray radio station about a meteor that had come down. Since then, Wanda told me that a report was made in the Corryong Courier about a meteor.

But, after checking online, no web archive was kept at the radio station of the broadcast, and the Corryong Courier does not have web news. One other callin has given corroborative statements to this report. The Corryong Courier is yet to respond to a request for their article. Larraine Cilia AUFORN NSW

Robyn and her husband, Bob, were driving through Marulan on their way back to Goulburn at 5.30 am on Sunday 2 April. Robyn said, “It was a clear night. The stars were bright against the black sky.” Suddenly, they both witnessed a big round orange ball with flames coming out of the back giving it a long bluish-coloured tail. It fell on an angle across the sky and passed out of sight behind a hill. Bob calculated it to be falling inland to the west. No sounds were heard and no tremors were felt. Larraine Cilia AUFORN NSW

Bill is a 60-year-old retired military person, ex-department of defence. He has been in helicopters, planes, jets and knows what balloons look like; he is even a witness to Min-Min lights! He is a very precise observer. At the time of the sighting, Bill was staying in a caravan at Oakdale. At 3:03 am Sunday morning, 09.04.06, he saw a bright light sitting in the sky. The light was slowly changing colour. It sat there for 10 to 15 minutes and then began moving quickly and erratically. The movement was controlled, mechanical, but moving all over the place.

He was facing west. He estimated the object would have been near to Richmond air force base; around 50 km away. He estimated that the object was moving at about the rate of two thumb widths at arms length per one tenth of a second. Then, suddenly, it disappeared. He grabbed his camera and managed to take a few snaps, but “the images were blank!”

Around sunrise that same morning, the skies were clear. At that time, Bill saw a bright light in the sky again. But it was only visible for a few moments before it too was gone. Later that morning, Bill rang Richmond air force base. “They didn’t want to know about it, but they gave me the 1800 number”. Bill also rang radio station 2GB and reported the sighting. As an ex military person, he was able to map the movement of the object and as such, the movement of this object made absolutely no sense to him. He was amazed. Larraine Cilia AUFORN NSW

Facing south towards the sea and Foster, Brian observed the southern sky. Brian has been involved with planes and their descriptions and movements from an association with the air training corp. Suddenly, two bright orange lights, nothing like aircraft, with a luminosity 4 or 5 times bigger than a star, were both coming toward the shore. The two objects continued with similar control and the same attitude, one a mile in front of the other. When they were about 4 miles out, the rear object went through approximately 160 degrees and tracked backward from whence it came.

When first observed, the objects were estimated to approximately 30 degrees in elevation above the horizon. The first of the objects continued closer on a heading that was approximately 10 degrees offset from overhead. Within the space of half a second, both disappeared. As the first close in object was disappearing, it was seen to be definitely gaining altitude. There was no sound. The entire sighting lasted no more than 30 seconds. The caller and his wife both saw the objects and although they had lived in the area for 3 years, neither have ever seen anything like it.

Although the witness tried several times to obtain telephone numbers in order to make a report to the authorities, not one traffic control tower or air force base could be reached. Enquiries found a listing under UFO’s. The 1800 number was given. Dominic McNamara AUFORN NSW

Max and his wife saw a light about the size of a star moving slowly across the sky. Initially, he thought that he was definitely looking at a satellite of some description. The object, whatever it was, was moving in a northerly direction. As it approached the constellation of Orion, the moving dot of light in the sky started to zigzag and finally stopped motionless. When originally sighted, the object was seen slowly crossing the sky for about two minutes. This was followed by nearly half an hour waiting to see if the object would move off again. Thereafter Max had trouble making out which star was actually the point of light which had moved so erratically. The sky was clear and the object looked like a bluish white star. Megan lives in a hilltop penthouse unit in Darlinghurst, overlooking Paddington and Bondi. Around 11:30 pm on 120406, she was lying in bed looking out the window when she saw an object travelling from West to east at a slow pace. She stated that the object was diamond shaped and appeared to have a long tail. She compared the object’s size to a ten-cent coin at arms length. It was flashing red, blue and white lights in a pattern of white red, white blue, white red, white blue. The object was shining a beam of light down to the ground.

At this point, I asked her if it could have been a helicopter. She said she could normally hear airplanes and the like at such a distance. At that moment, an aircraft flew over. “I can hear that” she said, “This had no sound and was flying lower than aircraft”. It should also be added that aircraft do not normally have tail plumes easily visible at night.

She watched it for about 5 to 10 minutes until it disappeared over the Bondi horizon. She immediately rang 000. She was not scared at all, but “it was so unusual”. Megan has been a long term resident and wanted to know what it was and if anybody else had reported seeing it. 000 directed her to call Telstra who in turn gave the hotline number. On the 16th April, Melanie saw 2 bright orange lights over Noble Park. They were flying one below the other. The lower one flew at a constant speed, while the upper one went faster, then stopped, then went fast, then stopped again, then it disappeared in one second. Then the lower one disappeared.
