Observation: The reason I am writing is for my best friend who lives in Far north NSW who had an unusual experience. My friend is trust worthy, I told her I would do research for her on her behalf. (wants her privacy kept).

She woke up in the early hours of the morning hearing a loud noise like similar a camera lens retracting in or out. She thought it could be the council doing roadworks. She looked out the window and saw an object on legs thin and spidery standing in the middle of the street. (6 LEGS) It took up the entire width of the road and had lights up the legs on the craft. She said the shape was an octagon (in shape but it was squashed in size.

She said basically a squashed octagon. It had a metal tube on top with a smaller octagon on top covered in lights and it extended to the height of the tallest tree. (THE CRAFT WAS COVERED IN LIGHTS)

She doesn't want to give the exact address as she wants to stay unnamed. She was in shock, Kept rubbing her eyes and watched this object in the middle of her street at 3 am. Normally cars drive down this busy road even at 3 am. The object continued to stay in the middle of her street which is on a high hill.

Unsure what to do, she said she stupidly turned the light on, and once she did this the object quickly retracted the probe like object on top and its legs then vanished within seconds. She was left rubbing her eyes in shock and laid in bed trying to work out what happened. She wasn't dreaming as the curtain was pulled back and she lay awake until her alarm went off.

She can't door knock her neighbours so I told her I would do some research. Have you had any reports for the 9th of April at 3 am in the Far north NSW area.

Description: Sounds similar to a camera lens retracting in or out. The object was stationary but it did extend the probe that was on top of the object. She witnessed that. The height was as tall as a palm tree. Lights were on constantly. She said that it wasn't what I expected a UFO to look like. Once she turned the bedroom light on, it compressed back to shape very quickly and vanished. The object had knee like joints and lights on all legs. Object stood 15 meters from the front of her house.

Shape: Like to 2 octagons placed together but squashed. Colour: Hard to say it was dark, it had no markings on it.

Other Witnesses: She was the only one present in this house watching this. Apparent Size Other: Octagon compressed similar to saucer but squarish sides Actual Size: The size of the craft in diameter was the width of a narrow street which basically allows one car to pass around a bend.

Altitude: Tree top height, the top probe was as high as a 2 storey house it was a spidery leg with another small craft attached to the top extended to the height of a tall palm tree.

Object Origin: Was stationary on the middle of the road when she woke up.Object Destination: The object disappeared within one to two seconds. She didn't know how it vanished but it just vanished. Size Comparison: Well it was on the road so it couldn't be the moon. Planets Visible: Stars present. Weather Visibility: Clear Weather Temp: Cold Weather Wind: Calm. Viewing Aids: No, she said she didn't even think about grabbing a camera as she was too shocked.

Effects Physical: NO. Effects Psychological: Emotionally a little dazed about the event but she didn't loose any period of time.

Other Experiences: She is a straight forward and practical person. She doesn't have any psychological issues.

S and her husband were sitting outside when they noticed two 'stars', one above the other and as they watched, the bottom one ascended slowly and 'merged' with the other. It took about 10 minutes for this to happen. They were hovering and then they faded out. She rang the Williamtown air base who said that they 'don't do UFO reports' and gave her the hotline number. They were looking towards East Maitland, in the easterly sky. She descried the objects as starlike.

Observation: My husband noticed the objects at 7.30 while in the kitchen looking west. (Funniest Home Video was doing end credits) he called to me to get outside quickly and he followed.

We live on a hill overlooking Gympie city and to the south west two large(?) orange lights were moving slowly north west. They appeared close as the lights were quite large compared to aircraft lights at about the same distance. No lights were flashing. They were flying very steadily - no zigwag etc and took 10 minutes before we lost them in the distance - they faded out. I assume we saw the tail glow of fighter planes. They also appeared to be flying quite low as two planes were flying after them - faster (they appeared and went in quicker time than the orange lights) and much higher in the sky.

We have it on video - now have to figure out how to get it off and tape it. We would like to know if it is RAAF planes. Hope I am not wasting anyones time - it was fascinating to watch - don't see unusual things like that often.

Description: No unusual movements. They appeared to be very smooth, though we think flying low. They came from the south traveling north. One appeared to be above and behind the other. The size of the orange "glows" didn't appear to get smaller for awhile as we tracked them across to the north west of us and we assumed they were going north then just as suddenly they started to disappear in a more westerly direction and the glows started to diminish. A plane which came from the same direction behind them was much higher in the sky and traveling much faster and going due north. We hope they saw them. No sounds at all.

No neighbours at home at the time. Rang my mother to look out for them but her view was obscured by trees. She lives north of the town centre.

Apparent Size Other: Between a star and a pea (sorry cant think of a good comparison) Actual Size: The size of each glow was significant - no mistaking that they were not a usual night sky inhabitant. We often watch the stars and satellites but this was very different. The plane lights that were traveling behind could be described as flashing pin pricks (star size).

The orange lights were much larger say the top of a pencil. Hopefully the pictures will give a better idea. Altitude: Sorry I am going to be vague but a plane flying behind them appeared to be following the natural curve of the earth and well up in the atmosphere. The two lights were much lower - and appeared to get lower before disappearing.

Object Origin: South west of us moving north west Object Destination: Seem to disappear into the horizon Moon Visible: Moon visible, very bright. North and slightly west of our house, high up - 90 degrees Moon Size Comparison: Smaller than the moon but much bigger that the stars around the moon at the time.

Planets Visible: The "saucepan" directly west of us was visible up above the horizon, two stars in a direct line up/down were east of the moon and other smaller stars. Sorry I don't know their names. Weather: Clear, Pleasant, Calm Viewing Aids: Binoculars, photographed with mobile phone and video taped. Effects Physical: None whatsoever. Just awe struck.

Other Experiences: Yes - a couple of times Firstly -My husband, mother and I saw a tubular shaped object (looked like a flouresent tube)moving through the evening sky in Alice Springs some years ago. The aboriginal community of Santa Teresa witnessed it also and it freaked them out. Turned out to be an Italian satellite (we were told) that hadn't opened correctly and what we saw was the sun's reflection on one of it's panels.

Second time last year in January about 3.00 a.m I witnessed two blue lights falling down out of the sky south west of us. They fell in a kind of arch - disappeared behind houses so my view was obscured - must have been very far away. Guess they were meteorites.

Observation: I was standing in my back lawn looking at the stars, the Southern Cross etc. My dog(German Shepherd) standing beside me started growling. I then looked north in the sky and with the glow from streetlights etc I nearly fell back. I actually said "What the hell is that!" What I saw appeared (to me) to be just above the treetops travelling from north to south in a slow steady movement. This thing was 'V-shaped (triangle) with at least 4 round lights down each side of the 'V' yet they weren't lit however I could clearly see what I was seeing thanks to the lights from the ground illuminating up. The thing was huge and what I could see was to me the underneath of it. I watched it for about 10 or so seconds until it disappeared further south over trees...my line of view was then blocked. My dog then stopped growling!

Description: Strange thing was there was absolutely no sound as it glided past. There was absolutely no planes anywhere in the area at this time. Location: home (location kept private) Other Witnesses: Unfortunately no-one. Apparent Size Other: Like half the size of a jumbo jet Altitude: Above tree top height. Huge gum trees on the golf course. Object Origin: North Object Destination: South Moon Visible: I didn't notice sorry, I was amazed. Planets Visible: Stars, it was a very clear night. Weather Visibility: Clear Pleasant, Calm Effects Physical: No Effects Psychological: Just mentally really thinking 'bloody hell, I really saw that'!! Effects Other: No but my dog only barks/growls if someone/something is close to the house. She is a brilliant guard dog.

End Note: I have talked with the witness he said he is trained to be observant that's his job. He said the lights on the object were doom shape with the inner rim of the doom lit up, the object moved around 10 klm per hour, very slow for its size, with no sound. He said his dog is an x police dog and he is trained also. He informed his son of his sighting who told him to report it to a UFO Research Network.

He was happy to talk about the sighting and was amazed at what he had seen.
I will be following up on another Triangle craft witnessed 2 days later in Newport NSW.

FIVE mine workers are convinced they saw a UFO fly over them on a remote Territory island. Mine maintenance worker Arnold Murray said a bright object whizzed over the Gemco mine site on Groote Eylandt as he and his colleagues started the night shift last Friday.

Mr Murray, 32, said the bright light was slightly higher than a plane coming to land -- but it was silent. He and four workmates were at the mine site at 7.15pm when he saw an object flying towards them.

"I noticed a star in the sky and it was getting closer,'' he said. "As it approached I realised it was at plane level. "Four other lads walked out of the office and we watched it for a little while. It was vertical from us, there were no flashing lights or noise.

"The plant's pretty quiet at night. (It made) no noise whatsoever. "All of a sudden it shot off and left a long orange trail behind it. That orange trail just faded out like a shooting star.''

Mr Murray said they wanted to know what flew over their heads in the night. "It wasn't a chopper, it wasn't a plane, we knew that much, and it definitely wasn't a shooting star.'' "It blew us out of the water.''

Defence spokeswoman Kelly Cooper said the object was not a military plane. "There were no military aircraft flying in that area at that time on that day,'' she said.

She said any navy ships letting off flares would have been at least 200 nautical miles off shore.

Groote Eylandt, in the Gulf of Carpentaria, is near one of the first and most famous UFO sightings in Australia -- the "light wheel'' reported on January 23, 1964. Sailors on a vessel off the northeast point of the island reported seeing a circle of pulsing lights rotating clockwise, and they said their compass went "haywire''.

Shape of objects: The body of the object was dark and hard to make out but after looking through the binoculars i saw a faint dark outline of the craft, it was long and narrow with a thicker midsection and alot thinner at the back and front of the craft.

Weather Conditions: Abit of rain earlier but the weather quickly cleared up with very little cloud cover, you could see the moon and stars very clearly.

Description: I was at a friends house (26, april, 2008), at about roughly 4:00am I decided to go outside in his backyard for a cigarette, my friend came out with me also. As we were having a chat we noticed a bright green flash like thunder without the noise just above some clouds (very thin cloud cover) to the north of us.

We thought that was strange but quickly got over it and went back inside.

About a half an hour later (4:30am) I went outside to his backyard alone for a cigarette, as im standing there just looking around I noticed what looked like a plane flying low to the ground (a bit above the tree tops) it had strangely bright white and red flashing lights which were constantly blinking at a fast rate and did not make a single sound, I didn't really get to see a shape or anything as it was dark. But it was a rather large aircraft based on the lights.

It came from the west (Dandenong) and travelled towards the east (Doveton-Narre Warren area) It was moving at a rather slow pace, 10 minutes must have gone past before I called my friend out to have a look, he came out then quickly ran inside to get the binoculars.

He had a look and told me to quickly look as it started to pick up abit of a pace. When I looked through the binoculars I saw what appeared to be two sets of lights arranged in a triangular pattern at a bit of a distance from one another, the lights were coloured orange/red and were flickering. The lights were attached to this long object, the configuration was 3 lights at the front and 3 lights at the back of this craft.

I also saw a faint dark outline of the craft while looking through the binoculars, it was long and somewhat narrow with a thicker middle area.

It picked up abit of speed then I lost sight of it as it moved behind some trees.

I was curious of this object after seeing the intense bright flashing colours, then I was stunned and somewhat shocked after seeing it through the binoculars.

My impression is that this thing was not a manmade craft, the way it moved and looked just had this otherworldly vibe to it.

This happened in Victoria, Australia over the suburb of Dandenong.

TV/Radio: Not sure if this was reported as it happened very early in the morning, not many people would have been out and about. This makes me wonder whoever was patrolling in this aircraft was doing so low to the ground seemingly above peoples houses travelling at such
a low speed for about 20 minutes before taking off at a rather incredible speed.

Observation: A triangular object hovering above us while sitting on balcony with to others. One block back from beach, it had orange round lights on the underbelly roughly 6 circles. No noise. It was a grey/blue black. it had what looked like a cock pit at the front.

Description: hovered 200 meters in the air in front of us. slowly took of in a horizontal direction, turned vertical then flew horizontal again in a northerly direction. No noise at all. Location: Newport, near the beach, Sydney. looking East. Other Witnesses: steve & drew ring me if you need phone number.

Apparent Size Other: Triangular, the size of a bus, about 30 foot. Altitude: not very far at all. just above power lines. Object Origin: Didn't see. It was just there all of a sudden. Object Destination: To the north Moon Visible: 3 quarter moon coming up from the horizon. The moon reflected off it allowing the colour of the object to be estimated as a dark, grey/blue black and it made the silhouette visible. Moon Size Comparison: bigger Planets Visible: all stars were visible, it was a very clear-night. Weather Visibility: Clear, Pleasant, Calm. Effects Physical: after my heart raced for hours, we were all extremely overwhelmed by the experience. Effects Psychological: as above.

Effects Other Witnesses: yes the same as me. Other Experiences: yes, have had many and have reported one to a man in Qld. Summerland highway, with friends camping, woke up with 3 day old looking bruises with my bra on backwards sitting awake in tent corner.

When showed them to my friend she told me about a bright light on the tent that night which scared her so much it prevented her from going to the toilet but when she got the courage by convincing herself it must be a truck or another car nothing was there or on the road and the light was gone instantly.

Thredbo, late 80's dancing lights in the sky like shooting stars but not falling just dashing across the sky.

Observation: I was driving my girlfriend home from a movie that we had just seen when Ii drove down toward her street she noticed a red object in the sky. I parked the car immediately and got out to have a look and in the sky there was a very large round object with big red lights. as soon as we got our phones out to take evidence of it, it got very red and disappeared for 2 or 3 minutes then reappeared about 50m higher in the air glowing red with a window at the back of it that I could see threw. We managed to take 1 picture of the object and it just disappeared then once again re appeared more to the east when we spotted it again it flew up toward the sky and it was gone. The speed of this thing was unbelievable I've never seen anything fly so fast in my life it actually left like an exhaust
fume in the sky as it flew in the air so quickly ware it disappeared for the
last time.

Observation 1: Mr. R xx a man like figure standing in an upright position flying at about 800 - 100 feet away in the sky, appeared to be looking around, and seemed to be moving very purposely at the one speed and same height it looked like a man, my mother and brother chased it in the car and it went down near a chicken farm.

Observation 2: Mrs. E xx I saw what looked like a human form flying through the air. It was solid in shape with its legs together which I thought it might have its legs apart if he was standing on a flying machine of sorts. There was no flying machine though just a human form flying on its own through the air. There was no sound it was heading in a westerly direction over the mountain range. I took off after it in my car to see if I could get a better look at it. We tried to take a photo on our mobile phone but it was too
far away. We lost sight of it over the range.

Eastwood - 28th April 21.00.
It was a shiny blue fluorescent ball of light. First thought it to be a plane as it was traveling around plane height. We noticed it because it was very bright, unusually bright for a plane. Me and my fiancé were checking it out and talking. After a couple of seconds it sped up, left a light trail and disappeared.
