AN ELDERLY couple claim they had a close encounter with a UFO while travelling along a Territory highway.

Lawrie Fuchs, 70, and his wife Gwen, 69, were returning to their home town of Elliott following a trip to Queensland last Friday when they say the UFO swooped them as they drove along the Barkly Highway.

Estimated to be about six metres wide, they say the object passed the vehicle with such speed that its slipstream forced their Mazda sedan into the middle of the road. They were travelling in a westerly direction and were about 55km east of the Threeways roadhouse when the incident occurred.

"It was about 4pm when suddenly we saw a dark, silvery flash and heard a loud sound as it passed,'' Mr Fuchs said.

"It was travelling at a terrific speed, very bloody fast, and there was no warning at all. "I'm sure it dive-bombed us but I can't imagine why.'' "I do a lot of bush work and over the years I've seen a number of strange, unexplained things,'' he said. Mrs Fuchs said she saw a little flash just below the sun visor then heard a loud whoosh as it passed over. "I actually thought it hit the car, but there were no marks,'' she said. Mr Fuchs, a mechanic who has lived in Elliot for 40 years, says he took the incident in his stride.

"I don't talk about it much because sometimes people don't take you seriously.''

Last week, another man reported seeing a UFO near Tennant Creek. Alan Martin, who is deaf, was obviously shaken by his experience. The Aboriginal man in his 40s had bought alcohol and headed alone into scrub land to avoid being humbugged.

He described seeing a disc-shaped object at close range. His drawing indicated it had red, green and blue lights.

Observation: A large bright white orb/light in eastern sky at approximately 45 deg from horizon. This light wasn't there at 8.30pm but suddenly appeared at 9.00pm. I had 4 witnesses with me and telephoned my husband and my boss to see the light. The light appears as 4 small lights in one digital photo and also as a red and green irregular rectangular shape in another. I also saw this light, on Monday night 26th May, at around 8.30 p.m but in the southern sky at approximately 60 deg from horizon.

When I went back outside at 9.00pm, it was no longer there. Description: It appeared to slowly inch forward every now and then and would slightly dim and then go bright again. Location: Zillmann Rd, Wallaville. Looking due east at approximately 45 deg up from the horizon.

Apparent Size: Pea-Sized. Altitude: At the level of high cloud. It was not outside of our atmosphere. Object Origin: Eastern. Object Destination: Not sure. Planets Visible: yes. Weather: Clear, Mild, Sunny, Calm. Viewing Aids: binoculars and photographed
Effects Other: the whole day was crazy and odd. dog behaving erratic, people behaving erratic, electrical equipment blowing up. Other Experiences: yes. Monday 26th May 08 at 0530hrs (e.s.t), my husband and I witnessed a large bright white orb which appeared
suddenly from the north sky and moved in a easterly direction. There was no sound or strobing lights. It was a solid, silent, moving light. Moved slightly faster than a jumbo jet. It was below the high cloud level. As it moved toward the eastern sky, it slightly dim.

Observation: a circular object that had a bright orange light in the middle that dimmed on and off, we went through various conclusions about what the object was, including: helicopter, it made no noise: passenger aircraft, it made no noise and was quiet small and it was flying on a rather varied flight path. It made absolutely no sound at all and it seemed to be going up and down strangely, it didn't follow the kind of pattern that something on a flight path would follow.

Description: it went up and down a lot, in an angular motion with this 'candle' like light in the middle of it as mentioned above it made no sound at all Location: Woodville south area towards the Adelaide CBD and then it went towards the port Adelaide area. Actual Size: I would say scaling it down it would be about 10 foot long and about the same length wide. Altitude: below cloud level but flying quiet high. Object Origin: we first saw it east of our location, it looked like a plane landing but it kept going up and down over and over again. Object Destination: west to northwest towards Port Adelaide region. Moon Visible: no it was blocked bye the cloud. Moon Size in Comparison: Small compared to what the size of the moon would be (clouds blocked a lot of the moon out) Planets Visible: no because of the clouds. Weather: Cold, Cloudy, Windy. Weather Comments: no wind was blowing when it was about but as soon as it left the wind picked up again. Effects Other: Nothing accept the wind dying down when it was overhead and picking up when it left. Other Experiences: Yes both me and my sister have seen unidentified flying objects before.

Observation: A large white light about 5cm in diameter in eastern sky above Glen Innes at about a 45 degree angle from horizon. It had three beams of white light and two beams of green light. It moved slowly across the sky and then disappeared. It was visable at the same time in the same place moving in the same direction each night...did anyone else see this.

Observation: I saw an object in mid-air hovering over the football field. at first I thought it was someone playing with a kite, but there was no one at the field. it moved like a kite. it stayed in one spot for a minute or so then quickly move about 20 meters. I thought it is too high to be a kite and that it is not windy enough. it then moved across the road about 200 meters or so. Then I definitely knew it wasn't a kite, a kite cannot go that far. Then I saw other people coming out to have a look, then I knew it was definitely some kind of UFO.

Description: first it looked like a black kite, then it looked like a b2 stealth bomber with wings pulled backwards. At different angles it looked paper thin. When it looked like a kite again, it had rows of light on the side. The lights were of light green.

Location: Blacktown near the M4 motorway and great western highway, cross reservoir road. Other Witnesses: 2 people came out and looked at it. Apparent Size: Pea-Sized. Actual Size: a little bigger than a helicopter. Altitude: 400-500metres. Object Origin: west to east. Object Destination: South West then South. Weather: Cloudy. Weather Comments: clouds were light grey so was clearly visible.

Observation: Sitting and chatting to my father in law I look up and see a white object floating through the sky very fast. I had my camera because I was taking photos of my brother inlaws house from the tornado through Rockingham. Description: White object, floating left to right. very fast. cloud height. Location: Seabrooke ave. Rockingham.

Apparent Size: Pea-Sized. Actual Size: smaller than a boeing jet. not much smaller. Altitude: above trees from where I were looking. Object Origin: From cockburn sound across towards Mandurah. Object Destination: it just dissapeared towards Warnbro
Moon Visible: wasnt looking. Moon Size Comparison: smaller. 1/3 of size. Weather: Clear, Pleasant, Cloudy, Calm. Other Experiences: Yes, many unusual sightings.


20.06.08 IPSWICH - SILKSTONE (QLD) 1500hrs (DL)

Observation: While walking back from a mates place, I looked north towards a dark cloud over the mountains outside of ipswich and saw a single orange light. I asked my friend if he could also see it and he did. at first we could notice one but as we carefully scaned the coloud we could see at least 20 - 30 lights moving slowly up into the clouds heading east towards Brisbane.

We started to ask ourselves what exactly we were seeing. It was overcast so it could not have been light reflecting off the objects but rather the objects giving off lights. I doubt it was planes from amberly airbase because they have always been flying alone or in two's. Some of these objects were flying in a formation forming a V and others were in a straight line heading east.

We also noticed tow other objects flying below the lights and also heading east, they could have been fighter jets because there were two. we noticed they were folling the lights.

We didnt think anything of this until now.

Description: They were quite far away and we could not hear anything, we were lucky to have even noticed them at all because they were so far away they were dim.

Location: I was on Glebe road, at the lights or intersection between Glebe road and south Station road. Walking from thompson street to crown street. after seeing them we stood and watched for around five minutes until they had disappeared into the clouds. Apparent Size: Star. Actual Size: they must have been the size of a house for us to have seen them from that distance. the two other objects seemed a bit larger then the lights. Altitude: at least 2-3 km up. Object Origin: they were north of ipswich heading east towards brisbane or the coast. Object Destination: Into the clouds heading east and climbing in altitude. Weather Temp: Mild, Cloudy, Calm. Effects Physical: no physical effect. Effects Psychological: Confusion is all I can say, an eerie feeling.


UFO sighting at Mullumbimby NSW
At dusk on Sunday 22 June.

I had a lovely UFO sighting at Mullumbimby NSW for about 5 minutes while at a friend’s 60th birthday party. While the rest of the guests talked within the house I sat outside in the garden looking east towards the house & listening to a trio of guitar players on the front verandah. In the clear evening sky a bright white light travelled slowly from the north at about a 1000 metres above ground and perhaps a km away until it was directly behind the house. It looked just like Venus except that it was travelling. I wondered if it was the landing lights of an aircraft at first but by the time it was passing me it was clear that it was just a bright light even when viewed from side on & no other normal aircraft lights were visible.

I wanted to tell the other guests that a wonderful sight was in full view but realised it would be impossible to raise their attention what with the intensity of their conversations & loudness of the music. Then the UFO dropped below the roof line & I walked around the side of the house but it was gone. When I informed the others what I had observed several people agreed that they had seen a bright blue light moving south past the east-facing window but took little notice because they thought that it must have been someone walking past the window with a blue light. However, the back garden beyond the window was covered with scattered building materials & long grass making it difficult to walk through & no one had gone out into the backyard.

25.06.08 BOUGAINVILLA, PERTH (WA) 07400hrs

Observation: I was standing at my bus stop as usual just like every other day, when I noticed something in the distance. It seemed to be gliding in a straight line across the horizon. As I looked closer I noticed that it was in no way a plane or a helicopter. It was roundish in shape and the top half appeared to be extremely bright, almost blending in with the sky, underneath it was black/grey. It was moving twice the speed of any plane I had seen.

Description: I could hear nothing at all. Location: I was in an area close to some large hills. Other Witnesses: I was the only person there at that time.Apparent Size: Pea-Sized. Actual Size: the size of a small house Altitude: roughly 1 km high Object Origin: it came from the direction of the hills moving right. Object Destination: right across the horizon Effects Physical: an overwhelming feeling of stillness in the area. Effects Other: my neighbors dogs began barking after the incident.

Hi Folks, I've had a chance to talk with Janie about the below NT sighting.

This is what I was able to find out.

Janie said her two nieces went to play at the basketball courts not far from her home, time around 7.30 p.m. While playing at the courts the kids heard a very loud noise off in the distance which appeared to be coming towards them it was so loud it scared them, time was 8.30 p.m. At first the kids thought it was a jet as they see many aircraft fly over day & night.

Janie said "I heard the noise too so I ran outside to see what it was, the kids wererunning from the basketball court screaming and shouting "look look" as they ran towards their homes trying to hide from it.

But one of my nieces didn't run straight away she stood still to get a look at what the noise might be, she told me she saw it, it was a round thing the size of a football field with round lights on its underside, all lit up ya know, lights like you see at the museum, those round ones in the roof.

Q. Round lights that shine down from the roof do you mean down lights

A. yes thats right those round ones.

Janie said, my niece saw it zoom off, we all heard it pass very quickly but only a few got to see it, we were so scared, some of us have seen that movie "Independence Day" and the aliens coming, we thought it can't be happening here can it, so we all hid inside. The object took off in seconds but it came back and started circling in the sky, the sky was pitch black there was no moon we could see the stars. Me and my family shouted out to each other to turn all the house lights off so it can't see us.

Q. How many homes turned the lights off.
A. 6 or more.

Q. Why did you do this?
A. Because if the lights are on then they can see lights if the lights are off then they can't see us, thats what we thought.

Q. So you all got a real fright by this thing.
A. Yes because it hovered over the top of my nieces house she saw it high in the sky over her house the house was lit up bright but that might be because we had our lights off I think, but it was brighter than normal out side, but no moon.

Q. So the object lit the house up,
A. Yes thats what my niece said.

Q. The mobile phone, what's the go with that, the paper said the phone
rang then went dead.?
A. No.....laugh... I told my brother to turn the phone off because he was playing games on it and I've heard these things UFOs can pick up signals from them then they can find you, so I made him turn it off.

Q. How long did these things UFOs hang around for.
A. it seemed like forever, but I think it was 2.5 hours.

Q. so you all kept your lights off for 2.5 hrs.
A. Yes until we thought it was safe to turn them back on then go outside.

Q. Did you know there was a military exercise being conducted from
Darwin with aircraft from around the world taking part.
A. No, really.

Q. Do you think it could have been an aircraft.
A. not sure, maybe? do they fly round ones full of lights.

We laughed, it was Janie birthday today I wished her a happy birthday and thanked her for chatting to me, she said many people have called for a chat about the UFOs.

Jaine said she will call the UFO hotline if anything more happens.

Janie ended "we are country folks we don't know a great deal about these things but we see movies about them. Out here we see many UFOs flying around but no one believes us, do you Diane"

I was loading firewood at the back door just on dark and noticed a bigger than normal bright light moving across the sky. It was very bright which made it hard to determine the exact shape. The object was about 10-times larger than a star and brighter. It seemed to be only a couple of kilometres away and moving at a slow, even pace in a straight line. It was too close for a satellite. It was not a plane as it was silent and flying much lower. It can only be described as a 'ball of light'. It was a very still and quiet night and there was no sound of any aircraft motor, though once it started getting further away we both thought we could hear a slight humming sound. A few minutes later an aeroplane flew past and it was a lot further away than the object and we could easily hear the noise of its motor and see its flashing lights, even though it was a lot further away.

Note by agent: There was an Iridium satellite with a possible flare at 5.48pm. The path, however, was SSE - NNW. The unknown in the report was travelling on an opposite flight path

A SMALL Territory community is still reeling with shock after four UFOs descended on their Outback homes. Families spent hours in fear as what appeared to be three spaceships hovered in the distance with another just metres above their houses.

The drama at Marlinja, population 112 and 730km south of Darwin, began at 8pm on Sunday.

Resident Janie Dixon said it started as an "ordinary" night.

"The kids were on the basketball courts, shooting a few hoops, and I was indoors talking to my two nieces when we heard a strange, loud noise," she said.

"We ran outside but at first we couldn't see anything -- it was really dark and we could hear the sound.

"The sound was horrible. It sounded like something was going past.

"We thought it was a jet. I saw what I thought at first was the evening star, the first star you usually see at night.

"But then we saw three red lights in the distance, and the sound kept getting louder.

"The ground felt like it was shaking, so we ran inside and shut the doors.

"My nephew and niece were looking out through curtains. The thing came closer, circled around the basketball courts and then came so close above our house.

"The kids at the basketball courts ran -- two girls stood there looking towards the sky.

"They tried to see what it was but all they could see was this bright red light in the pitch black."

Ms Dixon said the UFO hovered above the homes for what seemed like a couple of hours.

She said at one stage the phone rang, but went dead when she tried to answer it.

"Then the light in the house became so bright, it was like we were sitting in a football stadium," she said.

"After a while, after the things all disappeared... I think it was about 11pm by then.

"We went outside and were just sitting around drinking tea and talking about it all. The kids were put to bed.

"We heard the noise again and it came back, but disappeared again moments later.

"We were all really frightened.

"It was a big shock and I couldn't sleep."

Flying low and slow over golf course Nowra, Greenwell Point Road and flying west east. I was halted at an intersection at Worrigee facing north towards Terrara. In front of me was a military helicopter following another craft about two lengths behind. The front craft was a rounded triangle shape, about the size of the helicopter without tail or rotor blades. I sat for a while trying to work out what I was looking at. The bottom half of craft was grey/blackish and silverish on top. Many aircrafts fly over our area and my home but have never seen anything like it. For this past year there has been many 'unusual' aircrafts 'buzzing' our neighbourhood.

Observation: Relaxing at my veranda on dusk. I witnessed an extremely bright object, traveling at least four times the speed of sound (thus the reason for the two or three second observation).

The object path appeared to be approx. south traveling in a northerly direction. The object appeared to be almost parallel to ground, although I had the impression that it was loosing some altitude. I lost sight of the object due to trees and terrain.

Description: There was absolute silence. The object trajectory was a constant straight course, parallel to terrain. The size remained constant, i.e.: a bright white light, similar to a parachute type signal flare.

This bright light was definitely not an aircraft or a meteorite (meteorite do not travel parallel to the earth surface). Furthermore, during my military career I have sighted numerous aircrafts by day and by night in all types of weather. navigation lights, landing lights and position strobe type lights are easy to identify for trained observer.

Other Witnesses: Unfortunately although I called out to her, she did not witness the event - Apparent Size: Tennis Ball - Actual Size: No idea, too bright, and travelling very fast. - Altitude: Just above tree top height. Object Origin: South to approx. North - Object Destination: Lost sight of object due to terrain (behind a hill). Moon Visible: The moon would have been behind us, and not yet visible. - Moon Size Comparison: Much smaller than luna. - Planets Visible: The event happened just after sunset. Some time after, yes I observed that planets were clearly visible above the sighting. Weather Visibility: Clear, Pleasant, Calm Weather Comments: This was defiantly not a meteorite. Effects Physical: Only startled at the sighting - Effects Other: Two Dingoes started howling shortly after-woods - The next day we did not sight any wild life about. We reside in the bush, 8Km from Irvinebank Qld, a small town with only one pub, no shops or post office.

Observation: I was an security guard at Greenbank Army Training Area. This is an restricted area and I do not want my Name to be published with this article. I am one of two guards who has seen these advents on different nights. After doing a patrol at an 800mtr rifle range andleaving the site,the whole area lit up orange. I quickly reverse back so I could see down the range. I saw it at a distance of aprox 1km, it wa 1cm height and which lasted about 20 seconds. Thats makes it 10 storey high. It was an orange triangle above the treeline I look on the millary map for this area which is a restricted map. It did not allow anything that high to just disapear, a distance of 2 kms away had a deep gully that could be use to hide an object this height, the rifle range also has a very high dirt embankment at this end. Both of us also seen great explosion of light in the restrict area. The restrict area is inside the ring road that surrounds all of the different ranges. This area has been off limits since world war 2, when it was a American Army/Navy Quarters and storage area. This infomation is in the state archives. We were told never to go into this area as it has unexploded ordinates. As it is an restricted area it would be a good hidden spot for UFO activites. With the explosion of lights we saw, no sound, just rainbows of white and purple flashes, lasting some 10 seconds each.

Also not long before I left there, I had an encounter which I cannot find an answer to. I was doing a patrol about 2:30 am, I was checking one of the buildings in our patrol run. It has an rifle range next to it, it a building for reparing targets. Aprox 8 mtrs from the building is a small group of trees durning the day you can see thru them. These trees are
between the building and the rifle range. We also have brumby's on site.

These horses were there grazing on the range. They were aprox 6 mtrs past the trees. As I started to climb the wooden stairs, a very LOUD roar sounded behind these trees, I was quite alarmed and looked around saw the horses with a frighten looks on there faces and running away, I did the same thing. Maybe a yowie, who knows. I left this job not long after.

My thought on this matter was, could it be aa watch dog for aliens. I live next to the GBTA, have not seen any unusal objects just unusal sounds coming from inside this area. I feel some what safe as there is a8' high fence between us. One more thing I say is that I did a google search for houses in my area, It also showed the map of GBTA. You could zoom down to the area were I think the UFO was hiding. (But the Zoom is restricted at a certain height above the ground) This is in the gully I saw a large head looking up from a hole in the ground. I guess it was some 2 mtrs round. I have told other people about this and they all have laught at me. Is here I am.

I went to bed early around 8.00 p.m I'd only been in bed an half an hour I hadn't gone to sleep. Then all of a sudden a flash of something almost like I was being zapped like the speed of sound touched me then a bright light came on, I thought god what's that, then it happen again a second time zap, the first light went out then another light came on. I didn't know what was going on, so when I read the paper on the weekend I thought you might be interested.

(Linda said the light was outside her house.)
